OSCAR NIEMEYER
Oscar Niemeyer Soares Filho was born in Rio de Janeiro on December 15, 1907. He was an architect of recognized talent and an innovator of 20th century architecture. His work can be divided into two fundamental periods: the Pampulha projects and the construction of Brasília – a public project of great beauty. Oscar Niemeyer is also the architect of JK’s Memorial.
ATHOS BULCÃO
Athos Bulcão was born 1918 in Rio de Janeiro. He was a painter, designer and teacher. He was the creator of panels in many of Niemeyer’s buildings, including the Nacional Congress, the Itamaraty Palace, the Municipal Theater and the Madonna of Fatima Church. For JK’s Memorial, he created the panels at the entrance and in the Mortuary Chamber.
MARIANNE PERETTI
Marianne Peretti was born in Paris, France in 1927 and moved to São Paulo in 1953. In Brazil, she participated in countless art exhibitions. She is the designer of the stained glass window above the tomb in JK’s Memorial.
HONORIO PEÇANHA
Honório Peçanha was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1907, where he attended to the National School of Art (Escola Nacional de Belas Artes). He was a sculptor and teacher, and participated in many national exhibitions. JK’s statue in front of the Memorial is his creation.
